Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

Glasgow (3 days onsite per-week) Duration:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to support major UK defence and nuclear programmes. Based in Glasgow, with occasional travel to client sites, you will provide safety case leadership and technical expertise across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver nuclear safety case strategies. Support safety-informed design and engineering decisions. Conduct safety assessments and hazard studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN). Produce safety documentation, including PSRs, PCSRS and ALARP assessments. Engage with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams. Support engineering substantiation activities. Lead and coordinate safety case work packages and teams.
Essential Experience:
Strong nuclear safety case experience within the defence or nuclear sector. Knowledge of UK nuclear regulatory requirements and standards. Experience producing high-quality technical safety documentation. Proven stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
