About the role

*Job Overview* To undertake reactive roofing repairs, maintenance, and emergency works on residential, stock. The role involves diagnosing roofing defects, carrying out high-quality repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction while working safely and efficiently. *Key Responsibilities* * Attend reactive repair and emergency roofing call-outs within agreed service levels. * Inspect roofs and accurately diagnose defects, leaks, and damage. * Carry out repairs to a variety of roofing systems, including: * Pitched roofs * Flat roofs * Slate and tile roofs * Leadwork * Guttering, fascias, and soffits * Perform temporary emergency repairs to make roofs watertight and safe. * Replace damaged tiles, slates, ridge tiles, and roofing components. * Repair or renew gutters, downpipes, flashings, and associated roof elements. * Complete work to industry standards and company quality requirements. * Record findings, materials used and completed works using company systems or mobile devices. * Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and company procedures. * Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition. * Liaise professionally with customers, tenants, and site representatives. * Identify and report any additional repairs or health and safety concerns. *Skills and Experience* * Proven experience as a roofer carrying out reactive maintenance and repairs. * Knowledge of a wide range of roofing materials and systems. * Ability to diagnose roofing defects and identify suitable repair solutions. * Full UK driving licence. * Understanding of health and safety requirements within the housing industry. * Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. * Strong customer service and communication skills. *Desirable* * PASMA certification. * IPAF certification. * Working at Height training. * Asbestos Awareness training. * First Aid qualification. * Experience working within social housing, facilities management, or responsive maintenance environments. *Personal Attributes* * Reliable and punctual. * Problem-solving mindset. * Flexible approach to working hours and emergency call-outs. * Professional and customer-focused. * Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. *Working Conditions* * Working outdoors in all weather conditions. * Regular work at height. * Participation in an emergency call-out rota may be required. * Travel between multiple sites throughout the working day.
