About the Role About the RoleThe post-holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School and wider institution. They will make contributions to education and research in the subject area of Chemical Engineering, with focus on process systems at a large scale, safety engineering, process simulation and design engineering.About YouThe successful candidate will have a PhD in chemical engineering or related field, and undergraduate background in chemical engineering or similar (petroleum, safety, process engineering). They will also have an appropriate track record of high-quality research in large-scale chemical engineering at a national and ideally international level. An important part of the key skills is the ability to develop research proposals and secure external research funding, as well as subsequent effective award management, and we are particularly interested in individuals with strongly industrially aligned research. In addition, the successful candidate will be committed to high-quality teaching, understanding of student support needs, and able to provide guidance and signposting specialist services where appropriate. We are looking for someone able to utilize their experience to develop industrially applicable chemical engineering undergraduate and MSc projects.Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates who are under-represented in academic posts in Queen Mary.About the School/Department/Institute/ProjectThe School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS) is a large, research-intensive School within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, comprising over 110 academic staff and a vibrant community of approximately 2,700 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students, alongside 250 PhD researchers.
