Chemical Laboratory Assistant (Graduate) Location – Manchester Sector – Fine Fragrances / Cosmetics Salary – £24,500 - £24,750 Contract – Full time, initial 12 month fixed-term contract We're partnering with an international business specialising in the creation of bespoke fragrance solutions for global consumer brands. Combining creativity with scientific expertise, the team develops distinctive fragrances that shape products across personal care, home care and fine fragrance. On an initial 12 month fixed-term contract, our client are hiring for a Chemical Laboratory Assistant to join their fragrance teams. This would be an ideal position for a recent chemistry or cosmetic science graduate. The Role This is a role for individuals who have recently graduated in a chemistry related subject, or who have previously worked in a chemistry laboratory. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for: * Manufacturing of personal care, fine fragrance and household FMCG fragrance formulations using SOPs. * Optimisation of formulations through the trial of new raw materials. * Mixing of fragrances. * Planning and running tests for product stability and chemical composition. Skills and Experience Needed Suitable Applicants will have: * A degree related to Chemistry or equivalent subject. (essential, equivalent level 4/5 qualifications also considered). * An interest in the fine fragrance sector (strongly desired). * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high throughput laboratory (essential). * Ability to work effectively in a team and individually (essential). * Indefinite right to work in the UK, without the need for visa sponsorship now, or in the future (essential)
