Static Mechanical Engineer City of London £44,000 Brief Static Mechanical Engineer needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in London who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on mechanical assets in the Facilities Management industry. The successful candidate would need to have a relevant qualification- i.e. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing etc. and have a keen interest in Mechanical Engineering. If you have commercial experience in electrics, including having your 18th Edition that would be a plus! Conduct legionella control and monitoring activities. Diagnose faults and carry out remedial works independently. Maintain accurate records on CAFM systems (e.g. TotalMobile). Supervise subcontractors and ensure safe systems of work, including use of Permits to Work. Participate in emergency response and out-of-hours cover as part of a rota. Ensure compliance with health & safety, including proper use of PPE and adherence to Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Maintain compliance with BS7671 standards for relevant works. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and clients.What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer: Previous experience in a similar role within a Facilities Management environment. NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering Services (City & Guilds or equivalent). 18th Edition Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS and CTC clearance (required for specific sites). Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Experience with CAFM systems and maintenance documentation. Awareness of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practicesDesirable (but not essential): IPAF / PASMA certification. Technical Appointments such as CP - Mechanical or Pressure Systems (CPMPS).
