PCB/ Cable Assembly Operator

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, capable and detail-oriented PCB / Cable Assembly Operator to join our client's production team on a permanent basis, working 08.00-16.45 Monday-Thursday and 08.00-15.30 Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. Location: Medway Towns The Role As a PCB / Cable Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for assembling electronic circuit boards and cable assemblies to a consistently high standard. You will work from detailed work instructions, diagrams and photographs, ensuring that all products meet the required quality and production standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical electronics manufacturing experience who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in producing high-quality products. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assemble PCB and cable assemblies to defined specifications. Solder surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components onto PCBs. Operate an SMT pick-and-place machine to populate circuit boards. Build cable assemblies using soldering and crimping techniques. Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, photographs and diagrams. Follow established soldering processes and techniques. Carry out work accurately and consistently, maintaining a high level of quality at all times. Inspect completed assemblies and identify any defects or quality issues. Work effectively as part of the production team while also being able to work independently. Complete basic production records and documentation as required. Use basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word.The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience in a manufacturing or electronics production environment. Practical experience in PCB assembly and/or cable assembly. Experience with soldering, including surface-mount. Experience with crimping and cable assembly. The ability to read and follow technical instructions, diagrams and drawings. A strong eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Good manual dexterity and a methodical approach to assembly work. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel IPC-A-610/620 certification or training is advantageousBenefits 40 hours per week 25 days annual holiday, plus Bank Holidays.
