Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to join their operations team.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Transport Manager who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys taking ownership of transport performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring maximum fleet efficiency, maintaining high service standards, and supporting strong commercial performance. Working closely with drivers and operational teams, you will drive productivity, accountability, and operational excellence across the transport function.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily transport operations, including routing, scheduling, and fleet utilisation
* Monitor vehicle performance, fuel efficiency, maintenance, and downtime reduction
* Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence requirements, and health & safety standards
* Manage operational KPIs, transport costs, and profitability targets
* Lead, motivate, and develop drivers and transport staff to achieve high performance standards
* Maintain accurate transport records and ensure audit readiness at all times
* Resolve operational and customer service issues efficiently and professionally
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and industry compliance standards
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in a transport or logistics management role
* Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive engagement
* CPC qualification (or currently working towards completion)
* Good understanding of transport systems, route planning software, and Microsoft Office
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
* Commercial awareness with a focus on operational efficiency and service delivery
