Role: Secondary Supply Teacher
Location: Brighton and Hove
Contract: Part-Time / Flexible Supply
Start Date: Ongoing from September 2026
Daily Rate: £120 – £145
Supply Desk is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Brighton and Hove, who are seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Supply Teachers to join them on a flexible basis. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers looking for flexibility while continuing to make a positive impact in local schools.
About the Role
As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons across KS3 and KS4 (with opportunities in KS5 where applicable), covering planned absences, short-term placements, or ad hoc daily supply. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
Adapt teaching to suit a range of learning abilities and classroom settings
Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
Create a positive and engaging learning environment for all pupils
Follow lesson plans provided, with flexibility to respond to pupil needs
Assess and monitor pupil progress where required
Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and wider school communities
Candidate Profile
Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (KS3 and KS4 essential)
Strong subject knowledge (subject specialism desirable but not essential)
A flexible, confident, and proactive approach
Excellent classroom management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their development
Requirements
UK Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent
Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Two professional teaching references
Eligibility to work in the UK
