Finance Manager, Awen Cultural Trust

Salary: £47,940 - £49,431



Base: Bryngarw House, South Wales 



Accountable to: Head of Finance



Accountable for: Finance Business Partners, Finance Apprentice

Role Overview



We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to play a key role within our finance team. Working as an integral part of the team, you will take the lead on finance for Awen’s venues and trading subsidiary. This is a varied and hands-on role, combining operational leadership with strategic support.

  • You will work closely with venue management teams to ensure that the business is provided with the necessary finance management support and support the Head of Finance in developing a resilient and skilled finance team to meet the needs of the business.

You will lead day-to-day finance operations across the group, supporting venues, subsidiaries and outsourced clients with high quality financial management and reporting.

You will oversee core finance processes including budgeting, payroll, VAT and month-end reporting, while working closely with managers and stakeholders to provide insight, challenge and guidance. 




The successful Finance Manager will be a proactive, solutions-focused professional with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills, capable of delivering accurate, timely financial information and contributing to the continued development of a resilient and high performing finance function. 



Finance Manager Requirements 




  • \t
  • Formal accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or be able to demonstrate competence through experience 


\t

Formal payroll qualification (e.g., CIPP) or be able to demonstrate through experience 


\t

Excellent knowledge of payroll processing procedures, pension admin


\t

IT proficiency including Excel and Microsoft Office 


\t

A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes 


\t

Knowledge and understanding of managing financial matters including VAT, tax and other compliance implications of not-for-profit status 


\t

Excellent report writing and presentation skills 


\t

Experienced with dealing with financial transactions and cash handling, recording transactions and maintaining financial records 


\t

Ability to speak Welsh is desired
