About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Associate - Operations to join our London team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.
The successful candidate will support the Operations function by monitoring and processing domestic and international cross-border payment requests, ensuring transactions are handled accurately, efficiently, and in line with applicable regulatory and internal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the daily flow of payment remittance requests raised by internal stakeholders.
Manage funding and currency positioning on the Request Management System (RMS) for Treasury reporting, ensuring currency cut-off times are met.
Upload FX deal tickets to RMS for currency buying and selling.
Monitor incoming client monies relating to international cross-border payments and apply credits accurately.
Process the return of client funds to remitting banks through correspondent banks using appropriate SWIFT messages, including MT199 and MT299.
Process daily Mastercard payments.
Raise payment-related queries through the CRM system and follow up as required.
Ensure compliance with AML and KYC procedures and internal policies.
Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Head, Deputy Manager, or Assistant Manager.
Skills & Experience
Experience in banking, payments, or financial services would be advantageous. The following knowledge or experience is desirable but not essential:
Inward and outward payment processing.
Finacle or similar banking systems.
SWIFT payment message types.
Routine and investigatory payment-related work.
FX transactions, including currency buying and selling.
Banking and financial services operations.
UK, US, EU and OFAC sanctions requirements.
Payment Services Regulations, EU Funds Transfer Regulation, FATF International Wire Transfers and CHAPS.
