This is a genuinely distinctive opportunity for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join a newly formed in-house legal team serving Northamptonshire's Police, Fire and Rescue Service, and the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

The Role

You will manage a caseload of civil litigation matters including pre-issued and issued claims. While advocacy is not required, there is scope for disclosure challenges and case management hearings for those who want to develop in that direction.


You will be well supported. xwzovoh Two experienced paralegals and a dedicated civil investigator handle the investigative groundwork on claims before they reach you, and workloads are managed sensibly, with overflow outsourced.


What’s on Offer

  • Salary: £56,133 – £66,648
  • Predominantly remote working
  • Flexitime with TOIL accrued above 37 hours
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • 25 days’ annual leave, rising to 30 with service


About You

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx Fellow
  • Strong background in defendant litigation (EL/PL or similar)
  • Comfortable managing complex, sensitive matters with sound judgement
