Capability Lead - Weapon System Performance

Capability Lead, Weapon System Performance Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience Location: Hertfordshire Working pattern: Hybrid, 4 days per week onsite Security: BPSS required, British Citizenship required An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Capability Lead, Weapon System Performance to lead a specialist engineering team responsible for assessing the performance of complex weapon system solutions. You will lead and develop a team of approximately 12 engineers, with responsibility for building a high-performing and sustainable capability as demand for the team's expertise continues to grow. The role You will be responsible for: Leading and developing a team of specialist engineers with varying levels of experience Establishing and delivering a compelling vision for the future development of the capability Managing recruitment, staff development, knowledge management, capacity planning and objective setting Providing pragmatic technical leadership across emerging engineering topics and bids Supporting the assessment of weapon system performance using complex models and high-performance computing environments Analysing system behaviour across a wide range of operational and design conditions Working across the systems engineering lifecycle Building effective relationships with project teams, customers and other engineering functionsAbout you You will have: Proven experience leading specialist engineering teams and developing technical capability Strong knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle Experience providing technical leadership within complex engineering environments The ability to develop people, manage capacity and build long-term capability Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Experience of modelling, simulation, performance analysis or similarly complex engineering assessment would be advantageous A pragmatic approach to solving technical challenges and supporting bids or emerging requirementsThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to shape and grow a specialist capability supporting the development and performance assessment of complex defence systems.
