Health & Safety Manager - Manufacturing
6 Month Fixed Term Contract up to £55k Pro rata

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for a role where you can genuinely influence culture, drive improvement, and make a lasting impact?
We're supporting a successful manufacturing business in the search for a Health & Safety Manager to lead site-wide HSE activities and champion best practice across a fast-paced operational environment.
This is a highly visible position, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure compliance, minimise risk, and create a culture where safety is embedded in everything people do.
Key Responsibilities as Health & Safety Manager
Lead and develop the Health & Safety strategy across the site.
Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
Maintain and improve ISO 45001 systems, with involvement in environmental initiatives linked to ISO 14001.
Drive continuous improvement through audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
Develop safe systems of work, permit-to-work procedures and emergency response processes.
Deliver engaging training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes.
Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and implement improvement plans.
Manage contractor compliance and support wider operational improvement projects.
What We're Looking For as Health & Safety Manager
NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
Proven Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience with ISO 45001 management systems.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Practical, hands-on approach combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable as Health & Safety Manager
NEBOSH Diploma or working towards.
IOSH Membership.
ISO 14001 knowledge.
Internal/Lead Auditor qualification.
Fire Risk Assessment training.
