About the role
The Company
Our client is a leading international civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with operations across the UK, Ireland, Canada, and the USA. They deliver complex infrastructure projects across water, wastewater, civil engineering, tunnelling, marine, energy, and urban regeneration sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on major civils projects based in West London.
The Role
Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, the successful candidate will assist in the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through to final account.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to further develop their career within a highly respected and growing contractor.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with the commercial management of civils projects
* Supporting the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management
* Monitoring project costs and commercial reporting
* Supporting monthly cost forecasting and budgeting
* Reviewing subcontractor applications and payments
* Assisting with contract administration and documentation
* Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and senior commercial staff
* Ensuring commercial procedures and processes are maintained
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
* Minimum 2 years’ experience within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector
* Strong understanding of commercial processes within construction projects
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems
* Ability to work within fast-paced project environments
* Experience working for a civils contractor would be highly advantageous
