Senior Quantity Surveyor Chatham, Kent Intersect Global is recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a long-term programme of water and wastewater projects across Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a permanent position with a major infrastructure contractor, offering long-term project security, career progression and the opportunity to work on major AMP8 water and utilities programmes.

The role will be based at the contractor's Chatham, Kent office, with hybrid working available.

The Role Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a programme of civil engineering and water infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with the operational and commercial teams to manage costs, maximise project performance and ensure successful commercial delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to final account
Cost forecasting and management
Valuations, applications for payment and cash flow management
Subcontract procurement and subcontract management
Change management and compensation events
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
Supporting value engineering initiatives
Preparing and maintaining project forecasts
Managing WIP and maximising cash flow
Agreeing final accounts
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Supporting tenders, PQQs and other work-winning activities
Working closely with the project delivery team to maximise project margins
About You
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or the water sector
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
Experience managing the commercial delivery of projects
Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A relevant Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification
A stable career history and a genuine interest in long-term career progression
Water sector experience, including AMP6, AMP7 or AMP8 frameworks, would be advantageous but not essential .
