Metal Shearer Aston, Birmingham Rotational 12-hour shifts - 6am-6pm  (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)    Salary starting at £33,000 + BONUS  We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Metal Shearer to operate industrial shearing machinery used to cut sheet metal and metal components to precise measurements and specifications. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality output while maintaining safety and efficiency within the fabrication workshop. Key Responsibilities; Operate guillotine/shearing machines to cut metal sheets, plates, and components accurately. Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and cutting schedules. Measure and mark materials using appropriate tools and equipment. Set up and adjust machine settings according to material type and thickness. Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards and dimensional accuracy. Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on shearing equipment. Handle and move metal materials safely using lifting equipment where required. Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with health and safety regulations. Report equipment faults, material shortages, or production issues to supervisors. Work collaboratively with fabrication and production teams to meet deadlines.  Skills & Experience Required; Previous experience operating metal shearing or fabrication machinery preferred. Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring instruments accurately. Good understanding of metal fabrication processes and workshop safety practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Physically fit and capable of handling heavy materials. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing qualifications are beneficial. Health & Safety training desirable. Numerical / Analytically minded
