Accounts Senior
Location: Camberley
Job Type: Full-time, Office-based
Salary: Up to £40,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare statutory and annual accounts from client records for a varied portfolio of clients, including SMEs and limited companies.
  • Prepare accounts in accordance with UK GAAP, primarily FRS 102.
  • Prepare draft corporation tax computations and CT600 returns.
  • Prepare complete year-end accounting files, including supporting schedules for balance sheet figures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, professional requirements and internal procedures.
  • Provide ad-hoc accounting and business advisory services to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Manage client expectations and deliver work within agreed deadlines.
  • Provide proactive advice and identify opportunities to add value to client relationships.
  • Review the work of junior members of the team and provide constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee junior team members where appropriate.
  • Mentor trainees and support their professional development.
  • Support Managers and Partners with the management of client portfolios.
  • Assist with improving internal processes and promoting efficient working practices.
  • Prepare clear and well-structured management letters and financial summaries.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Recently qualified ACA or ACCA.
  • Practical experience gained within public practice is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience preparing statutory and annual accounts for SMEs and limited companies.
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP, particularly FRS 102.
  • Experience preparing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns.
  • Experience reviewing junior staff work and providing guidance.
  • Confident working with a varied client portfolio.
Systems ExperienceYou will ideally have experience using:
  • Xero
  • QuickBooks
  • Sage Line 50
  • Excel-based cash books
  • IRIS (desirable)
  • Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications
