Date: 12 Apr 2023Sector: FINANCIAL MARKETSType: PermanentLocation: LondonSalary: 45000 - 60000 per annumEmail: : db We are looking for a Graduate Chemical Engineer with Oil refinery/Energy Markets experience to work as an Asset Economist within a London Planning team.The role works closely with the Oil refinery and trading teams to optimise refinery feedstock and product disposition strategies and decisions. This includes consideration of economics, operational and logistical impacts.The successful candidate will utilise the Linear Programme for developing cargo economic evaluation, benchmarking, refinery operating plans and special studies.They will participate in the full crude-to-customer supply chain, optimising various aspects of this system.Education/Experience profile:Chemical Engineering degree - requiredLP Model experience preferred but not essential.Candidates with prior LP experience shall have a demonstrated ability to frame and resolve oils planning opportunities. A strong understanding of refinery economic drivers, constraints and capabilities is required.Engineers looking to move into LP planning shall have a demonstrated ability to frame engineering problems/opportunities and lead issues to resolution. An appreciation of basic refinery economic drivers would be preferred.Experience in refinery operations / support role strongly preferredGood industry knowledge and understanding of industry standards and their commercial impact, as well as market trends / drivers, logistics and refinery operations in area of responsibilityCompetencies/Skills:Able to communicate complex issues clearly in all mediums. Strong listening skillsAbility to influence, provide direction / recommendation and achieve resultsAbility to lead teams to timely decisionsWe are looking for either an Engineer interested in becoming an LP Planner or an existing capable LP Planner to work within the London Planning & Economics team associated with the Pembroke refinery.Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise within tight time framesStrong analytical skills and knowledge of PIMS (preferred), Excel, Word, PowerPointCollaborative self-starter with high degree of urgency, integrity and reliability.
