We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Operations Officer to join a busy People and Talent team supporting a large children's services organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong HR administration and employee lifecycle experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing high-quality support to employees and managers.
The role is initially offered on a temporary contract until December, with the potential for an extension or a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
The Role
As HR Operations Officer, you will be a key point of contact for colleagues requiring support with HR policies, procedures and systems. You will provide first-line advice and support across a wide range of employee lifecycle processes while ensuring all queries are handled efficiently, professionally and confidentially.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and responding to HR queries received through the People Service Desk
- Providing first-line support and guidance on HR policies, procedures and employee lifecycle processes
- Preparing accurate Contracts of Employment and employment amendment letters
- Processing starters, leavers and changes to terms and conditions
- Communicating payroll, pension and employment changes accurately and within required deadlines
- Completing Right to Work and DBS checks in a compliant and timely manner
- Supporting recruitment and talent acquisition teams with onboarding and compliance checks during busy periods
- Maintaining accurate electronic employee records and personnel files
- Escalating or referring more complex queries to the appropriate HR team
- Supporting low-level employee lifecycle casework and providing general guidance to managers
- Helping to develop and maintain service desk procedures to ensure consistent advice and excellent customer service
- Providing feedback on HR policies, processes, forms and guidance to support continuous improvement
- Supporting the testing of HR system changes before implementation
About You
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years' experience working in an HR support, HR administration or People Operations role. xwzovoh
You will ideally have experience supporting a busy HR function and managing multiple employee-related processes at the same time.
You will need:
- Previous experience in an HR support or HR administration role
- Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Confidence using electronic HR systems and databases
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering a high-quality service
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a wider team
