Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Our client is a trauma-informed organisation supporting women affected by domestic abuse. They are currently seeking a Domestic Abuse Refuge Worker to provide high-quality practical and emotional support to women living within refuge accommodation.
The successful candidate will work closely with survivors to increase safety, promote independence, and empower individuals to make positive choices for themselves and their families.
Main Purpose of the Role
* Provide safety planning, support, advice, and advocacy to women experiencing domestic abuse
* Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual risks and needs
* Support women to maintain safety and move towards independent living
* Work collaboratively with partner agencies including housing, social care, police, and health professionals
* Empower survivors to make informed decisions and achieve positive outcomes
* Maintain accurate and confidential case management records
Responsibilities
* Complete risk and needs assessments and develop support plans
* Support clients with housing, benefits, legal appointments, and access to community services
* Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times
* Support women with crisis management and emotional support
* Participate in multi-agency working and professional meetings
* Contribute to on-call or out-of-hours support where required
Requirements
* Experience supporting vulnerable adults or survivors of domestic abuse
* Good understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and trauma-informed practice
* Strong communication and advocacy skills
* Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
