About the role

We are seeking a motivated and committed Male Support Worker to join our Adult Services team in Kinson. This rewarding opportunity involves providing person-centered support to Mikey, helping him maintain his independence in his own home and empowering him to live a fulfilling life as an active member of his local community. You'll play a key role in supporting his goals, building confidence, and promoting meaningful everyday experiences. Please note: Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship.​ ​To be considered for this role​you must hold a Full UK driving licence, however access to your own vehicle is not essential. ​ The role Supporting Mikey would involve taking part in a range of different activities from taking leisurely walks in the new forest, heading out for a drive in his motability car, visiting the local café for a drink, listening to music and supporting him to have weekly visits from his family. He communicates in his own unique and meaningful way using visual aids, PECS cards, signs and gestures, helping him to express his choices and preferences every day. Working in Mikey's team is a 2:1 service which means you will always be working as part of a team to provide the best support possible. You’ll help Mikey with all aspects of daily life, including personal care, medication and meal preparation, but just as importantly, you’ll help him enjoy life, stay active and achieve his goals. ​ Hours ​Full Time This would be a mixture of shifts between 7am – 10pm - Monday - Sunday This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment) ​ A day in the life of a Support Worker would include: * Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community * Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication * Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour * Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication ​ Why join us?
