About the role
One of the UK's leading national children’s charities are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Children’s Support Worker (SEN Activities Club)to join their dedicated, experienced and growing team of professionals as they embark on a journey of expansion. This is a zero-hour position based in state-of-the-art facilities in Keele, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
About the role
This an exciting opportunity to work as a Children’s Support Worker (SEN Activities Club) in a supportive and collaborative environment. It is a key role which contributes to ensuring the care is an exceptional standard for neuro-diverse children and your responsibilities will include:
To ensure the supervision and care of children is of an exceptional standard
To show a positive attitude towards the organization and service
To adhere to the code of conduct expectations
Communicate with children, families and all stakeholders in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture in full compliance with the Equality & Diversity Policy
Uphold the principles and practice of customer care and continuous improvement
Maintain confidentiality and Data Protection and at all times work in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations 2018
Have an awareness of relevant health and safety regulations and legislation, being responsible for your own health and safety and that of anyone else whom your acts and omissions may affect
Report any concerns of potential abuse of a service user in line with the Safeguarding Policy and procedures
Demonstrate commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
Keep comprehensive and accurate records in relation to your role and in accordance with policies and procedures
Attend training as appropriate to the role, applying knowledge gained to the workplace
To work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the team, building and maintaining good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with statutory and non-statutory bodies
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Demonstrate commitment to the company mission, vision and values
On occasion and when necessary, work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business
Willingness to travel on occasion in order to fulfil the needs of the post

The salary for this role is in line with the National Minimum Wage
Enhanced holiday entitlement starting at 27 days and increasing to 33 with length of service. (pro-rata for average hours worked)

About you
To be successful for the role of Children’s Support Worker (SEN Activities Club), you must have:
At least 1 years’ experience in caring for children with SEN
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent IT skills
Ability to plan and prioritise workloads
A positive ‘can-do’ attitude with a flexible approach to work
Able to meet the physical requirements of the role after reasonable adjustments have been made for illness or disability
Desirable but not essential:
Knowledge of statutory and voluntary agencies
Experience of working in the Third Sector
Experience of working in CQC and ISO regulated organisations
Experience of working with volunteers
