Roadside Assistant

About the Role: As a Roadside Recovery Mechanic, you’ll attend vehicle breakdowns across the Bradford area, carrying out effective on-site repairs to ensure buses can safely return to the depot. This is a key role within the engineering team, helping to keep services running efficiently. Key Responsibilities: * Attend roadside breakdowns and carry out repairs or temporary fixes * Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and techniques * Drive a company vehicle to breakdown locations * Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard * Accurately complete breakdown reports and documentation * Collect parts from stores when required * Support the engineering team with additional duties as needed About You: * Full UK driving licence (essential) * Basic mechanical knowledge or qualifications (e.g. SVQ Level 2 or equivalent) * Familiarity with diagnostics and repair techniques (desirable) * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills * A willingness to learn and develop new skills * PCV licence is advantageous, but training will be provided What’s on Offer: * Free health support services including virtual GP access, mental health support, and cashback on dental & optical care * Access to discounts across major retailers and supermarkets * Free bus travel + discounted rail travel for you and your family (after 6 months) * Free onsite parking and cycle to work scheme * Up to 5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays * Pension scheme and opportunity to purchase discounted company shares Working Hours: 38 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern: * Early: 6:00am – 2:00pm * Late: 12:00pm – 10:00pm Typically 4–5 days per week
