About the role
Our client, an innovative company at the cutting edge of electric propulsion technology, requires a talented Manufacturing Tooling Engineer to join its dynamic team.
This is a contract role outside IR35.
Responsibilities:
* Provide tooling design support & DFM/A input
* Define tooling requirements alongside manufacturing method
* Design and validate production tooling and fixtures
* Produce complete tooling documentation & lifecycle controls
* Support prototype builds, tooling commissioning and process improvement
Requirements:
* Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience
* Significant and demonstrable experience in the design and development of production tooling within an aerospace or automotive environment
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their limitations
* Experience using CAD software: NX is preferred
* Experience of PFMEA and Control Plan development leading to robust process development
* Knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and scheduling
* Experience in completing risk assessments and ergonomic assessments
* Ability to support and plan for future opportunities/volumes, while having the ability to manage day-to-day activities
