About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Network Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing safe, efficient and compliant electrical distribution networks from 11kV up to 132kV. You'll take ownership of the full design lifecycle - supporting feasibility, producing detailed designs, and ensuring seamless handover into construction.
You'll work closely with internal teams, ICPs, developers and external stakeholders, providing expert guidance and ensuring designs meet regulatory, commercial and operational requirements. This is a role where your decisions genuinely shape outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading the design of new electrical distribution networks (LV to 132kV) in line with industry standards and IDNO requirements
Producing high‑quality technical documentation including load flow studies, protection settings, schematics and layout drawings
Reviewing and approving designs produced by internal and external designers
Supporting feasibility assessments, budget estimates and technical proposals
Ensuring compliance with ENA standards, G81, ESQCR and relevant legislation
Collaborating with project managers, engineers and external partners to ensure smooth project delivery
Providing mentorship and technical support to junior designers
Contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and standards
What You'll Bring
Proven experience in electrical network design within DNO/IDNO/ICP environments
Strong understanding of distribution network standards, protection principles and system planning
Proficiency with design and modelling tools (e.g., IPSA, DINIS, ETAP or similar)
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and regulatory frameworks
Excellent communication skills and confidence working with customers and stakeholders
A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and a passion for delivering high‑quality work
