Year 1 Teacher - First School Location: Highbridge Start Date: 23/02/2026 Contract: Long-term (likely to be until end of academic year) We are working on behalf of a welcoming and nurturing First School to recruit a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate primary teacher who is committed to delivering engaging, high-quality learning during this crucial stage of a child's education. The Role Full class responsibility for a Year 1 cohort Planning and delivering creative, inclusive lessons in line with the National Curriculum Creating a positive, structured and stimulating classroom environment Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents/carers The Ideal Candidate Will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK Have experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1 Demonstrate strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills Be enthusiastic, patient and child-centred in their approach Have a good understanding of phonics, early literacy and numeracy Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children The School Offers: A supportive and friendly leadership team Well-behaved, enthusiastic pupils A collaborative staff culture with shared planning and resources Ongoing professional development opportunities Safeguarding The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
