Buyer & Product Account Manager – Fashion
About the role
Location: Camden, London
Company: Olympia International Ltd.
Employment: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Olympia International is looking for a commercially minded Buyer & Product Account Manager to take ownership of fashion collections from initial range planning through to customer presentation and confirmed orders.
This is not a traditional retail buying position. You will work on the supplier and brand side, combining the product judgement of a buyer with the commercial ownership of an account manager.
You will help build balanced, saleable collections, oversee pricing and margins, direct the product development process and present ranges to international retail customers.
The ideal candidate will be highly product-focused, confident working with spreadsheets and numbers, comfortable negotiating with suppliers, and capable of presenting and selling products to buyers.
- Build and maintain seasonal range plans across assigned brands and categories.
- Review market trends, customer requirements, previous sales and competitor activity.
- Identify gaps, duplication and commercial opportunities within each collection.
- Work with designers to ensure collections are creative, balanced and commercially relevant.
- Select, edit and approve products as collections develop.
- Ensure the agreed number of styles is delivered against each seasonal range plan.
- Manage each collection from initial concept through sampling, pricing, presentation and order readiness.
- Work closely with UK designers and the Bangladesh design and product development teams.
- Monitor sample development and ensure products remain aligned with the approved range.
- Ensure two complete sample sets are available for selling.
- Make sure range plans, line sheets, price lists, lookbooks and SPY are accurate and completed before sell-in.
- Keep seasonal calendars and critical paths on schedule.
- Establish target retail, wholesale and cost prices.
- Analyse margins and recommend commercially viable selling prices.
- Negotiate prices, minimum order quantities and lead times with suppliers.
- Work with factories and product development teams to achieve target prices without compromising the intended product.
- Maintain accurate pricing and margin information across the range.
- Build strong relationships with retail buyers and existing customer accounts.
- Understand the product, price and delivery requirements of each customer.
- Present collections confidently in buyer meetings, showroom appointments and trade shows.
- Recommend suitable products and build customer-specific range proposals.
- Follow up on presentations, negotiate commercial terms and secure orders.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue within existing accounts.
- Convert agreed customer selections into clear and accurate order information.
- Ensure all prices, quantities, delivery dates, product details and customer requirements are confirmed.
- Provide a complete handover to production merchandising and commercial teams.
- Monitor key milestones and resolve commercial or product-related issues.
- Maintain visibility of orders through production and delivery without becoming the day-to-day production merchandiser.
You may currently be working as a:
- Buyer
- Junior Buyer or Senior Assistant Buyer
- Product Manager
- Commercial Product Manager
- Wholesale Account Manager with strong product experience
- Buyer working for a retailer, brand, wholesaler or fashion supplier

- Confidence working with costs, selling prices and margins.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers or factories.
- Strong organisational and critical-path management skills.
- The ability to work effectively with designers without needing to design the product yourself.
- Confidence presenting products and communicating with customers.
- A proactive, accountable approach to getting collections completed and orders secured.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Experience in menswear, branded fashion, wholesale, off-price retail or international sourcing would be particularly valuable.
