C&I Sales Specification Engineer

Our client, a key player in the buildings and manufacturing industry, is seeking a C&I Sales Specification Engineer. This permanent role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of driving specified demand for fire detection and alarm solutions across England. The position involves a combination of being on the road and working from home, with a focus on key areas such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with fire consultants, M&E consultants, consulting engineers, architects, and design houses Influence system architecture, device selection, and compliance approaches in line with relevant standards, including BS 5839‑1 Identify and track early-stage and pre-tender projects across various sectors Convert design engagement into protected specification opportunities through to tender stage Support consultants with system selection, network design, and compliance interpretation Defend specifications through value engineering challenges and cost-down exercises Provide feedback to product management regarding market needs and consultant preferences Maintain accurate CRM project reporting and share market insights with leadership Job Requirements: Experience in commercial and institutional (C&I) building projects Technical background within fire detection systems Proven sales track record - desirable Electrical engineering degree Ability to build strong client relationships and influence design and specification at early project stages Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach and strong initiative Benefits: Competitive salary Remote working flexibility with a significant amount of travel- main areas of London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds Opportunity to work within a leading, growing organisation in the fire industry Professional development and training opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment If you are an experienced Sales Specification Engineer with a background in fire detection systems and are looking for a new challenge with great growth opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
