About the role
Wokingham – Qualified Social Worker – Family Help - £38 ph Umbrella
Remote days negotiable, required in the office 5 days per week during duty week on a 5 week cycle
Provision of high quality, relationship-based social work to children, young people and families, ensuring their safety and promoting positive outcomes through effective, child-centred practice
• Delivery of robust safeguarding practice in line with statutory responsibilities for children in need, child protection, and looked after children
• Working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to co-produce purposeful plans that support sustainable change and strengthen family networks
• Contribution to effective multi-agency working, maintaining strong professional relationships to improve outcomes for children and young people
• Maintaining high standards of recording, report writing, and court work in line with legislative and organisational requirements
• Championing corporate parenting principles and promoting the best outcomes for children in care and care leavers
• Delivering effective and efficient practice in line with the Wokingham Practice Model, ensuring value for money and high-quality service delivery
Our Family Help Pods work with children and families using a relational and systemic approach, building strong partnerships to create meaningful and lasting change. We are looking for Social Workers who are confident in delivering high-quality interventions, able to manage complex caseloads, and skilled in working collaboratively with families and professionals.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a good understanding of child care legislation and safeguarding thresholds, and the ability to produce clear and analytical recordings. You will be committed to relationship-based practice, continuous professional development, and improving outcomes for children.
We are particularly keen to attract candidates who demonstrate stability in their employment history, supporting continuity for children and families.
Essential Requirements:
• Degree/master’s in social work and SWE registration.
• 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK social care legislation and practice.
• Right to work in UK
