Pay Rate: Up to £240 per day (Outside IR35)

Working Pattern: Full-Time
Travel: Regular travel throughout Scotland, with participation in a 24/7 on-call rota
A leading telecommunications and network infrastructure provider is seeking a Field Engineer to support the delivery, maintenance and assurance of critical communications networks across Scotland.
Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you\'ll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault resolution of telecommunications infrastructure supporting critical national utility services. This role combines project delivery with operational support, ensuring network reliability while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Installing, commissioning and maintaining telecommunications network infrastructure
- Providing first-line fault response, maintenance and network assurance activities
- Supporting project delivery alongside engineering and project management teams
- Diagnosing and resolving network faults across a range of communication technologies
- Completing preventative maintenance and routine inspection activities
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and project records
- Monitoring project progress and escalating technical risks where appropriate
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality and compliance standards
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations
- Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota to support critical network services
About You:
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications, Network or Field Engineer
- Strong installation, commissioning and maintenance experience within telecommunications infrastructure
- Excellent understanding of IP networking, including LAN, WAN and MPLS technologies
- Experience supporting routing, switching and network troubleshooting
- Knowledge of telecommunications transmission technologies, including SDH, PDH, microwave radio and related network equipment
- Familiarity with Cisco, Alcatel or similar networking platforms
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Competent using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
