About the role
We are recruiting a DFG Surveyor to join a respected social housing group in Essex delivering essential adaptations and improvement works across the community. As a DFG Surveyor, you will play a key role in assessing properties, managing Disabled Facilities Grant applications, and ensuring vulnerable residents can remain safe and independent in their homes. Managing Disabled Facilities Grant cases from referral through to completion
Carrying out property inspections and technical assessments
Preparing schedules of work and specifications for adaptations
Overseeing contractors and ensuring works are completed to a high standard
Providing technical advice to residents, families, and partner agencies
Ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation, health and safety standards, and organisational procedures
Supporting service improvement and maintaining accurate project records
Working closely with Occupational Therapists and external stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes for residentsThe successful DFG Surveyor will have:
Experience delivering Disabled Facilities Grant or housing adaptation projects
Strong knowledge of housing construction, repairs, and building regulations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
A relevant surveying, construction, or technical qualification
