Kent is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Aberdeen Structures Team within our UK Consulting business. Our Aberdeen Structures Team provides a broad range of services across our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets. We are the ‘go to’ company for complex problems in design, engineering, integrity management, structural analysis, life extension, and ultimately decommissioning. Our structural teams work on some of the most exciting and varied projects in the offshore sector. This role provides opportunities to work across our structural offshore services, including integrity, design, analysis and decommissioning. Flexibility is key, with a varied work pipeline across our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden horizons and engage with local clients, while enhancing current skillsets.

Skills & Responsibilities

• Thisis abroad-ranging role acrossOil&Gas andOffshore Windprojects.
• Guideand mentorjunior engineers, supportingtheir technicaland professionaldevelopment.
• Undertake bothassessment ofexisting offshoreassets andnew designprojects,dependingon businessneeds;workwillrangefromhandcalculationstolinearandnon-linearfiniteelementanalysis.
• Collaboratewithcolleaguestoidentify,develop,andimplementnewtechnicalmethodologies.
• Build,communicate,andmaintaineffectiveclientrelationships,includingleadingclientfacingconversationsand delivering presentations of project work.
• Managepersonalcostandtimetargetstodeliveranefficient,high-qualityengineeringservice.
• Prepareclear,concise,high-qualitytechnicalreports.
• Workwithinhighlyexperienced,multi-disciplinaryteamstoexecuteprojectssuccessfully.
• Developtechnicalandprofessionalcapabilitiesinline withKentcareerpathways.
• Workaspart ofanintegratedteam,ensuringclientinteractionand projectdeliveryfrommultiple locations.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience

• EngineeringdegreewithhonorsorequivalentinCivil,Mechanical,orStructuralengineering,NavalArchitecture,or arelated field.
• Ideally Chartered (ICE, IMechE, IStructE etc), or actively working towards chartership.
• Knowledgeofoffshorestructuralengineeringandrelevantoffshoredesigncodes.
• DemonstrableexperienceofcorecompetenceforSeniorEngineerlevelinatleastoneareaforoffshorestructures(Oil& Gas and/or Offshore Wind) 1)structuralintegritymanagement2)structuralanalysis3)structuraldesign4)decommissioning.

Communication

• Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
