Job Details: Pay: Up to £45,000 per annum DOE (Overtime available) Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (Day shifts) Duration: Permanent Benefits: 26 days holiday bank holidays, pension (auto-enrolment), free onsite parking, training, uniform, PPE provided, corporate gym discount Job Role: As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time while meeting technical and commercial requirements.
The Project Engineer will support the development of bespoke jigs and fixtures and assist in introducing new machinery into production processes.
This Project Engineer position involves close collaboration with multiple departments, preparing project documentation, and overseeing project progress from enquiry through to completion.
Key Duties
- Project Engineer: Process project enquiries, breaking them down into materials, labour, consumables, and tooling requirements Collaborate across departments to gather information for accurate quotations Prepare quotations and estimate project man-hours Manage client purchase orders and raise internal purchase orders Create detailed work packages for the shop floor Distribute project documentation to relevant departments Monitor contract performance, milestones, and project expenditure Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications: Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent) or time-served Minimum of 3 years' experience in an engineering or technical environment Strong understanding of engineering principles, including trigonometry Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 2D CAD software Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications: Previous workshop experience as a Fabricator Welder, Manufacturing Engineer, xwzovoh or Mechanical Engineer Experience transitioning from shop floor to office-based engineering roles Additional Information: Some shop floor involvement is required alongside office-based work Security clearance will be required in line with UKSV procedures Commutable From: Bilston, Wolverhampton, Wednesbury, Walsall, Cannock, Brownhills, Burntwood, Tamworth Similar Job Titles: Technical Engineer, Contracts Engineer, Project Engineer , Projects Engineer For further information about this and other positions please apply now.
