Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer (PLC Fault Finding) – Role OverviewThis role will suit an experienced Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer (PLC Fault Finding) who is confident working on manufacturing machinery and comfortable fault‑finding across PLC‑controlled systems. As a Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer (PLC Fault Finding), you will act as a key escalation point on site, supporting more complex faults and helping drive reliability improvements across production equipment. While this is not a programming role, the successful Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer (PLC Fault Finding) will be expected to confidently use PLCs and HMIs to diagnose faults and support troubleshooting independently. Key Responsibilities Act as an escalation point for complex electrical faults Carry out hands‑on electrical fault‑finding on manufacturing machinery Use PLCs and HMIs to diagnose issues (inputs/outputs, sensors, logic) Support planned and reactive maintenance activities Work on motors, drives, control panels, and automated equipment Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives Provide technical support to other engineers on siteQualifications & Experience Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment Strong background working on production machinery and automated systems Confident fault‑finding electrical issues in live environments Comfortable using PLCs and HMIs for fault diagnosis and troubleshooting Experience with drives, motors, sensors, and control panels Ability to work independently and take ownership of problems Qualifications beneficial but hands‑on experience is prioritisedPersonal Attributes Hands‑on and practical approach Logical and structured fault‑finding mindset Calm under pressure in a production environment Team‑focused and supportive Keen to learn and develop technicallySalary & Benefits Salary up to £50,000 Early finish every Friday Day‑based role – no on‑call Flexible working hours Private healthcare Ongoing training and development Stable and supportive engineering teamInterview Process One‑stage, face‑to‑face interview Site tour included Focus on practical fault‑finding approach Initial technical discussion including PLC troubleshootingIf you’re an experienced Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer (PLC Fault Finding) looking for a role where you can stay hands‑on, solve problems, and be a key technical support on site, we’d love to hear from you.
