About the role

Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Configuration Engineer to support the preparation, configuration and deployment of end-user IT equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring devices are built, configured, tested and ready for deployment, supporting hardware refresh and onboarding activities across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, build and prepare laptops, desktops and mobile devices for deployment.
  • Install operating systems, applications and security updates.
  • Image and re-image devices in line with company standards.
  • Perform device testing and quality assurance checks prior to deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues.
  • Wipe and decommission legacy equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Apply and maintain asset tags and ensure accurate asset records are maintained.
  • Configure and support mobile devices, including iPhones and iPads.
  • Manage device stock, accessories and deployment equipment.
  • Package and prepare devices for shipment or on-site deployment.
  • Escalate technical issues where required and work closely with wider IT teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and secure configuration environment.
