Social Worker – Fostering (Supervision & Support – North Devon) Location: Devon – North Devon Organisation: Devon County Council Contract: Full-Time Locum – 37 Hours per Week Pay Rate: Up to £38.00 per hour Start Date: ASAP Interviews: Active interviews taking place now SW Locums are recruiting for an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join the Fostering, Supervision & Support Team in North Devon. This is a fantastic locum opportunity to work within a supportive fostering service focused on delivering safe, stable, and positive outcomes for children and foster families. The successful candidate will provide supervision, support, and guidance to foster carers, undertake annual reviews and unannounced visits, contribute to quality assurance processes, and support foster carer training. You will work in line with fostering regulations, legislation, and National Minimum Standards to ensure high-quality practice across the service. Requirements * Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England * Completion of ASYE * Strong Children & Families experience * Fostering experience or transferable skills from a related team * Excellent communication, planning, and relationship-building skills * Sound knowledge of fostering legislation and regulations Social Workers will be required to complete visits and cover service needs across the fostering area. Some home working may be available and can be discussed at interview. Please note: This role is no longer eligible for the agency accommodation / commuter travel allowance of £150 per week due to recent guideline changes. Why Devon County Council?
