HGV Class 1 Driver - Part Time

OnePlace Solutions are currently looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our client based in Dordon. Our client are a long standing automotive parts supplier who are looking for experienced drivers to join their team on a part time basis.

• We have roles available for part time hours - 20-24 hours per week - FRIDAYS and SUNDAYS
• The driver must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a class 1 role.

This role is 3-5 drops per shift, and includes opening up small sites and controlling the alarms before dropping the goods in. So it is not just a driving role.

• Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring securement according to safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements.
• Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to legal driving hours.
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
• Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
• Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required to ensure optimal operation.

Process

Candidate

• Agency recruit suitable trained drivers
• Wont take Drug or drink driving in previous 11 years
• Wont take over 3 points
• Experience at east 6 months but ideally 12months +
• Good knowledge of working time and EU regulations
• Ideal experienced multi drop and load security
• Good knowledge of vehicle checks
• Able to operate independently and safely in varying road conditions

Process requirements

• hold correct licence and is valid
• Up to date CPC and DQC card
• Has physical copies of them.
• Right to work documents or share code
• No excluding health conditions from driving understand any reportable conditions or medications

Testing at site

• theory test
• drug test
• Drive test
• Licence inspections
• Assessment of candidate while undergoing these

Start

• 1 days induction
• 1 night transport training
• 3 days buddy training

Pay Rate

• The Training Pay rate is £17.92 per hour.
• The hours is working nights, starting between 10pm-2am and working 10 hours per shift & working FRIDAYS & SUNDAYS. xwzovoh
• The pay rate is £26.74 for per hour
