Senior Electrical Design EngineerStockport 45,000 - 55,000 + benefits (depending on experience)The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business designing material handling systems.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a UK leading manufacturer. They are a well established business with a global reputation.This is a varied role where you will take ownership of electrical design projects from concept through to commissioning, working closely with manufacturing, installation and engineering teams to deliver high quality solutions for customers.The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, contribute to new product development and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the engineering department.Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer Design electrical control systems for bespoke projectsProduce and maintain electrical schematics and technical documentation using CAD softwareSelect and specify electrical components, cabling and control equipmentConfigure and support PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs)Provide technical support during equipment build, testing, commissioning and fault findingAssist with prototype development, testing and design validationSupport and mentor junior engineers within the teamWork collaboratively with production, installation and project teams to ensure successful project deliveryIdentify opportunities to improve engineering processes, product quality and efficiencyEnsure designs comply with relevant electrical standards and company quality proceduresRequirements of the Senior Electrical Design EngineerDegree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical EngineeringAt least 5 years' experience within an Electrical Design roleExperience designing electrical control panelsStrong knowledge of PLCs and variable frequency drivesExperience producing electrical schematics using Electrical CAD softwareAbility to interpret and apply electrical standards and best practicesStrong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departmentsAble to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environmentExperience within material handling or a similar engineering environment (desired)Why Apply?Work on bespoke engineering projectsJoin a collaborative and supportive engineering teamLong-term career development within a growing engineering businessVaried role offering exposure from design through to commissioningIf you would like to find out more, please get in touch with Adele Lewis:Mobile: Office: Email:
