Assistant Estimator

Junior Estimator Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum Hours: 40 hours per week Location: Office-based Holiday: 28 days (including bank holidays) Role Overview We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to support the estimating team in the preparation of accurate and timely costings. This role involves working closely with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure high-quality project delivery and commercially sound decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within estimating and gain exposure to contracts, supply chain management, and client engagement. Must have previous Joinery, Carpentry or Wood working experience to be considered for this position Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of project estimates and costing documents Review enquiries, drawings and specifications to gather relevant information Support the management and assessment of incoming project enquiries Obtain quotations and pricing information from specialist suppliers and subcontractors Learn to review contracts and identify potential commercial risks Assist with client meetings and presentations where required Help prepare variations, cost reports and final accounts Maintain accurate records and estimating documentationWhat We Are Looking For: Strong organisational and administrative skills Excellent attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Confidence working with numbers and technical information Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications (or willingness to learn) Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel A proactive and positive attitude An interest in construction, furniture making, architectural joinery or estimatingStreamline Search is a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the United Kingdom.
