Director Building Surveying

The Opportunity

We are working in partnership with a well-established property consultancy to appoint a Building Surveying Director to join their senior leadership team.

This is a key strategic hire, offering the opportunity to play a central role in shaping the direction and growth of an already successful business. The position combines leadership, client engagement, and commercial responsibility, with a clear focus on driving performance and expanding market presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to and help shape the overall business strategy
• Drive business development activities, securing new work and growing existing client relationships
• Take ownership of financial performance, including revenue generation, fees, and profitability
• Oversee the delivery of building surveying services, ensuring high-quality outputs and client satisfaction
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team, ensuring effective resource management and progression
• Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, stakeholders, and partners
• Support bid preparation and play a key role in winning new instructions

About You

• MRICS qualified with significant post-qualification experience
• Strong background in delivering building surveying services across a range of sectors
• Demonstrable experience in winning work and developing client relationships
• Commercially astute, with a clear understanding of financial performance and service delivery
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
