Commodity Buyer

My client was established in 2009 and is seen as a world-leading OEM across a number of Engineering industries. As the Commodity Buyer, you are responsible for acting as a single point of accountability for their commodity, owning all commercial and supply chain activities from initial concept through to end-of-life. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to negotiate contracts, prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.What we would like from the Commodity Buyer:Previous proven experience within a similar roleMCIPS or studying towards CIPS qualificationExperience working in an automotive/aerospace or manufacturing environmentPrevious exposure and experience working with raw material market data, indices, and platformsStrong technical knowledge and understanding of processes and components and supply chain managementExperience in supplier/customer relationship managementUnderstanding of cost drivers in a manufacturing environment and experience in leading cost reduction activitiesExperience of using Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV)What we offer the Commodity Buyer:Salary between £55,000 to £60,000 doeAnnual bonus25 days annual leave Christmas shutdownHybrid working (3 in the office and 2 from home)Private Medical Care5.5% employer pension contribution and uncapped for the employeeLife InsuranceCar SchemeIf this opportunity as a Commodity Buyer is of interest to you, don’t hesitate and get in touch asap!Click to apply or contact Luke Tanner at Orion RecruitmentINDENG
