Rate: Up to £38 per hour PAYE / £50.84 per hour Umbrella

Contract Duration: 12 months (possible extension)

Hours: 37 hours per week (overtime paid at standard rate)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a major engineering and defence programme based in Portsmouth. Working within a complex, regulated environment, you will be responsible for leading multifunctional teams to deliver projects on quality, on time and on cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multifunctional project teams to deliver agreed project objectives
• Develop and maintain robust project plans, schedules, budgets and resource forecasts
• Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear and timely communication
• Own project reporting, highlighting risks, issues and mitigation actions
• Control project finances, cost performance and schedule adherence
• Maintain and update risk registers and ensure effective risk mitigation
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, ethics and quality standards
• Manage change, non‑quality issues and lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience delivering projects within engineering, defence or aerospace environments
• Strong background in project planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk management
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
• Confident producing clear project status reports and xwzovoh managing customer expectations
• Familiarity with structured project management frameworks
• Aerospace or defence sector experience is advantageous
