We are seeking a Lecturer - Course Leader - Art & Design to join our team. We are seeking an inspiring and committed Art and Design Lecturer who can motivate young people through a strong emphasis on making, experimentation, and creative exploration. The postholder will provide leadership across pathways within our Level 3 Diploma in Creative Practice programme. They will play a key role in shaping an engaging and inclusive curriculum, ensuring students are challenged, supported, and encouraged to take creative risks. Applicants should have the ability to teach and support students with interests in Fashion and Textiles, Costume, and 3D Making. A broad, interdisciplinary approach to art and design practice is essential, alongside the ability to connect practical skills with critical thinking and contextual understanding. This is a permanent, part-time position (0.8 FTE), working four days per week (including Tuesdays). The role is based in our dedicated Art and Design studios and workshops, where you will have access to specialist facilities and resources to support high-quality teaching and learning.

About the role: Responsible for the whole study programme overseeing the academic quality, delivery, enrichment, student outcomes and course administration.
monitor standards of students' work against awarding organisation guidelines and to raise achievement levels.
Working with area leadership teams to ensure management of quality assurance and provision. Ensuring appropriate requirements are met for external verification.
Comprehensive teaching responsibilities (designing schemes of work, assessing, preparation, delivery, marking, individual student tutoring).
Designing, developing, and reviewing curriculum materials in line with programme specifications and quality assurance frameworks.
Delivering engaging and innovative teaching using a variety of pedagogical approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
Essential Experience: Teaching or delivering training experience in Art & Design
Extensive vocational/ industry knowledge in a related field
Creative problem solving skills and evidence of strong technical knowledge in art and design related disciplines
Essential Qualifications: Education to degree level and/or above in an Art & Design or related subject
Level 5 Teaching Qualification/ completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course
