Skilled Plastic Fabricator
Leeds, LS9
Full Time, Permanent
38 hours per week
Salary: £14.60 per hour, rising after probation

Our client is a small manufacturing business specialising in plastic and acrylic fabrication, producing high-quality sheet plastic components. They are looking for a skilled Plastic Fabricator to join their production team.
Responsible for fabricating high-quality acrylic and plastic components using a range of fabrication techniques, requiring a basic proficiency with hand and power tools and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, while contributing to the production of durable products and ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for plastic fabrication projects
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble plastic materials (e.g. acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC) to precise requirements
Use fabrication techniques such as heat bending, bonding, machining, forming, and polishing
Operate workshop machinery including table saws, routers, polishers, and other fabrication equipment
Carry out finishing work such as sanding, polishing, and edge finishing to a high standard
Complete quality checks to ensure all parts meet required tolerances and specifications
Carry out basic maintenance of tools and equipment in a workshop environment
Identify and resolve minor fabrication or production issues as they arise
Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
You will have:
Preferred experience in plastic fabrication, manufacturing, production, or workshop environments
Experience working with materials such as acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, and other sheet plastics
Knowledge of fabrication processes including cutting, bonding, heat bending, machining, and finishing
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately
Good mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculation
Ability to work independently and follow safety and quality procedures
Experience with CNC machines, laser cutting, or general engineering/assembly work would be an advantage
