We cover Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, DataGovernance and AI Innovation, and look to empower the organisation to make accurate andinformed data-driven decisions.The Data Platform Team builds and maintains the infrastructure that underpins theproduction, discovery, and consumption of data. You will be joining a team that delivers thetools and capabilities to allow a range of users to work with data effectively, safely andefficiently.You will be challenged in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, but you’ll be given theautonomy, mastery and purpose to succeed. We value smart work as much as hard work, soyou’ll be encouraged to automate wherever possible.What You’ll Do (main responsibilities)Deliver the technical implementation of our data platform, working closely with ourproduct owners, architects, and end usersWork with our Data Engineers to help design, build and maintain Data Productsdelivering critical analytical data to people and systemsHelp solve interesting and difficult technical challengesKeep it simple by obeying the Principle of Least AstonishmentHelp maintain a common set of tools and standardsHelp empower our data teams (Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts) totake ownership of the operation, performance and availability of our data servicesEnsure that the Data Platform remains secure, well governed and well managedBuild out new capabilities for the platform with self-service in mindMonitor the platform so that we are aware of any issues before our stakeholders areWhat We’re Looking For (experience / skills you'll need)Experience working with cloud infrastructure & platforms (ideally GCP)Knowledge of infrastructure as code, containerisation, automation and monitoringtoolsExperience using version control tools (git)Experience designing, building and operating highly available, highly scalablesystemsUnderstanding of data platforms and tooling in the data domainWorking knowledge of Unix based OS (Mac/Linux)Key CriteriaExperience using a scripting programming language (e.g. python, ruby)Be passionate about working within an agile, multidisciplinary devops team.Be a team player who works well with their colleagues through sharing andcollaborationBe a clear communicator that is also happy to have their work critiquedAnalytical thinker who loves to solve complex design challengesPlease note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date.
