About the role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Classroom / Cover Supervisor to join our secondary school clients teams. The successful candidate will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and continue learning in a safe and positive environment.
This role is ideal for individuals considering a career in education, teaching, youth work, or those with experience working with young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise whole classes during teacher absence using pre-prepared lesson materials
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work
* Support students’ learning and wellbeing
* Record attendance and report any concerns to relevant staff
* Assist with general school duties where required
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Educated to GCSE level (including English and Maths) or equivalent
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage classroom behaviour confidently
* Organised, adaptable, and professional approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
You must have experience working with young people in the UK to be considered for this role
