Groundworks Operations Lead

Title: Groundworks Operations Lead Salary: Up to £100,000 Location: Colchester, Essex We are working with a well-established and growing groundworks contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Groundworks Operations Lead to support the long-term growth and delivery of their projects division. This is a senior leadership position suited to an individual with strong technical knowledge, operational management experience, and proven man-management skills within the groundworks and civil engineering sector. The role will be predominantly office-based, with regular site visits as required. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the operational delivery of multiple groundworks projects • Work closely alongside the Managing Groundworks Surveyor • Oversee site teams, programme performance, and operational standards • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget • Provide technical support and leadership across projects • Manage client relationships and coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams • Support the continued growth and structure of the groundworks division Requirements: • Strong background within groundworks and civil engineering • Proven operational leadership or senior management experience • Excellent technical understanding of residential and commercial groundworks • Strong communication and team management skills • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously • Long-term mindset with ambitions to help develop and lead a growing division This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and forward-thinking contractor offering long-term progression and the chance to play a key role in the future growth of the business
