Electrician & Comms Technician – HS2 Infrastructure

Mor-Tech Consultants are looking for an experienced Electrician & Comms Technician to join our Caretaking – Plant Department, supporting the maintenance and operation of critical electrical, automation and communication systems across the HS2 project.

Based at Maple Cross, you will work across HS2 assets between Harefield and Great Missenden, ensuring tunnel electrical and communication systems remain safe, reliable and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

* Installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of LV and ELV electrical systems.

* Maintaining PLCs, control panels and automated systems.

* Supporting tunnel communication networks, including fibre optics, Ethernet, CCTV, PA and emergency intercom systems.

* Diagnosing electrical, networking and control system faults.

* Working with tunnel ventilation, lighting, pumps and monitoring systems.

* Ensuring all work complies with electrical regulations and health and safety requirements.

* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.

Essential Requirements

* NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification.

* Valid CSCS card or equivalent.

* City & Guilds Level 2 Tunnel Safety (TSTS) certificate.

* Experience in electrical maintenance, fault-finding and LV systems.

* Knowledge of PLCs, industrial networks and IP-based communication systems.

* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.

* Comfortable working underground and within confined spaces.

Previous experience in tunnelling, infrastructure or construction environments, along with Siemens PLC and fibre optic network experience, would be advantageous.
