The department, along with several of its leading individuals, is ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, offering an excellent platform for early career development.The RoleYou will manage a varied caseload under appropriate supervision within a busy and supportive team. Work will include a broad range of commercial property matters for a diverse client base, including:Freehold sales and purchasesOption agreements and overage deedsCommercial leases for offices, retail units and industrial premises (acting for both landlords and tenants)Advising banks and financial institutions on secured lendingAdvising developers on residential and commercial development sites, including plot salesActing for local authorities and public sector bodies under the WGCD frameworkProperty portfolio managementProviding corporate support and litigation supportYou will also draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial property documents, including:Sale and purchase contractsTransfer deedsOption and overage agreementsCommercial leasesLegal chargesDevelopment agreementsCollateral warrantiess106, s104, s278 and s38 agreementsAdditional responsibilities include:Investigating and analysing complex titles and preparing clear reports on titleAssisting senior solicitors within the teamParticipating in business development, including attending events and writing articlesCandidate RequirementsThe successful candidate will demonstrate strong academics, a positive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for developing a career in commercial property.
