Salary/Package: £85,000 – £95,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance + Discretionary Bonus + Private Medical + Pension + Additional Benefits

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a highly regarded and well-established property developer who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team, taking a lead commercial role on a circa £150m residential-led mixed-use development in Lambeth.

The successful candidate will act as the main commercial point of contact for the project, taking significant responsibility for the commercial management and delivery of the scheme while working closely with the wider project team, senior management and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Acting as the main commercial point of contact for a circa £150m residential-led mixed-use development
• Taking overall responsibility for the commercial management and performance of the project
• Managing the commercial strategy and ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle
• Procuring and commercially managing subcontractor and consultant packages
• Preparing tender enquiries, analysing returns, negotiating and making recommendations for award
• Managing valuations, payments, variations, change control and final accounts
• Monitoring project costs, forecasting expenditure and maintaining accurate commercial reporting
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate mitigation and cost-control measures
• Working closely with project managers, construction teams, design teams, consultants and senior management to ensure successful project delivery
• Providing clear and accurate commercial information to senior management and key stakeholders
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, consultants and supply chain partners
• Supporting the wider commercial function and contributing to the continued growth of the business

Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor within a developer, main contracting or principal contracting environment
• Developer-side experience would be highly advantageous
• Experience working on large-scale residential or residential-led mixed-use developments
• Previous experience commercially managing significant projects, ideally £100m+
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation, communication and reporting skills
• Proven ability to take ownership of a project and act as the main commercial point of contact
• A strong track record of longterm tenure with previous employers and a demonstrable commitment to career development
• Ability to operate autonomously while working effectively as part of a wider project team
• Strong understanding of the commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale development projects
• Ambition to progress within a growing and expanding development business
